About CoinEx Rate Limit Adjustment
To ensure fair distribution and optimal use of server API resources, a long-cycle rate-limiting system has been implemented on CoinEx to regulate requests from both main and sub-accounts on an hourly basis.
We assess users' actual API usage efficiency to determine if limiting the total number of requests over an extended period is necessary. At the end of each cycle, the request count resets. If a user exceeds their allocated requests within the period, they will experience a penalty where requests enter a low-speed mode, significantly reducing request rates. However, this does not affect the user's ability to cancel orders.
Rate Limit Adjustments in API V2 (Very Important)
- The original rate limit in API V1 was every 2 seconds, and it has been adjusted to per-second calculations in API V2, maintaining the rate limit frequency calculated per second.
- In API V2, canceling orders and batch canceling orders are now grouped separately for spot and contract orders.
- In API V2, other groupings, except for order cancellation, remain consistent with the previous version.
- BOTH API V2 and V1 rate limits remain CONSISTENT.
Please Note
- Long-cycle rate limits will take effect immediately on Mar 7, 2024 (UTC) and apply to both API V1 and V2.

What Does This Mean for You?
- If you're currently using API V1, your existing functionality will remain unaffected. However, please note that API V1 will only maintain its current features and will not support additional capabilities.
- We plan to officially retire API V1 between Jul and Sep 2024 (UTC). Stay tuned for more details on this transition.
